When pronouncing the vowel 'ე' the tip of the tongue rests at the front teeth and its bulk is advanced. The sides of the tongue touch the hard palate, the top of the front and middle parts is raised and the resonance area in the front part of the mouth cavity is considerably decreased.

The letter written or typed in this way is called 'eni'.

It is traced out with one movement of the hand and is written between the three lower lines: movement of the hand begins between the upper and lower middle lines, goes upwards drawing a semicircle from left to right at the upper middle line, continues downwards vertically, drawing one more semicircle from right to left at the lower line and ends with a slightly rounded end to the right between the lower middle line and the lower line.
