When pronouncing the consonant 'კ', the throat is closed, the air does not come from the lugs and it is produced by a small amount of air. The back and partially the middle of the tongue touch the soft and the hard palate and produce occlusion and explosion.

The letter written or typed in this way is called k'ani.

It is traced out with one movement of the hand and is written between the three lower lines: movement of the hand begins at the upper middle line, goes downwards to the lower middle line drawing an arc from left to right, goes on downwards drawing another arc between the lower middle line and lower line and ends by drawing a semicircle from right to left with a tip slightly rounded to the right.
